i haven’t been doing much since everyone’s gone back to school.. except for watching tons of korean dramas and shows and sleeping. very sad, i know. but i’ll get it all out of my system for school heheh.

I recently watched The World They Live In (starring Hyun Bin and Song Hye Gyo) and I really honestly liked it. Not only was the plot refreshing and not over-the-top dramatic and unnecessarily sappy or cutesy, i thought it was really well written and played out. but apparently it had horrible ratings in Korea. What do they know :/ they obsess over Bi… who somehow is a “world star” and they … bleghhh. I love kpop stuff and I’m proud to be a Korean, but there’s some things that need to change. The lack of manners and a bit twisted value-system… the disparity between the less fortunate and the overly rich ones who hold all the power.. How they obsess over any talented figure that’s Korean. Like Kim Yeon-Ah and Park Tae Hwan (i mean it’s great to support your country’s athletes and what not).. but they have whole broadcasted episodes on these kids and like.. praiseeee these ppl everywhere. The poor girl I bet she’s burdened by the sudden exponentially increased number of fans at the rinks who literally SHOWER her with flowers and gifts. more than any other country that’s probably had a steady strong presence in figure skating. It’s actually embarrassing.. like the over-the-top fanship of Koreans during world cup. sighh

Korea for sure is dynamic. .. sometimes good sometimes not so good. We’re definitely a baby country still.. even if we’re up there market wise. hmm may God bless Koreans. and open up their eyes a little more.. hahah

yea, i know what you mean. i was sad and embarrassed when i saw in ‘the economist’ a picture of korean senators physically fighting… i mean c’mon, of all things to be featured about, that? yeah, we still have a ton of growing to do. but also, looking back the last few decades of time it’s also amazing how far it’s come. pretty exponential as you would say, and pretty crazy. ^_^
p.s. hyunbin is basically the only korean actor i love love love. hehe
